Why Husbands Need To Grow More Confident In Their Bible Skills

“For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12

Do you realize what a powerful weapon the Word of God really is?  It’s called the “sword of the spirit” for a reason!

Imagine what every husband could do with a spiritual weapon like that?

What if you could pierce through the lies that bind your marriage like ropes tying your hands and feet together?

What would you pay to be able to speak to your wife in a way that could cut through the barrier that has grown between you?

Picture sharing truth with your wife so sincerely that she began honor you as a leader she can trust?

Imagine having such a great command of Scripture that you could fight valiantly to bless and protect your wife spiritually; what would that do for your marriage?

A man with a sword is not a swordsman, and a man with a Bible is not a spiritual leader. A Bible on a shelf collecting dust is of no value to the family possesses

For a man to become a spiritual leader, disciple-maker, and husband who can fulfill his calling to protect and provide for his bride, he must train himself in God’s Word. He must become a swordsman. According to research conducted by the American Bible Society, only 24% of Christian men were “active Bible users,” meaning they read the Bible at least once per week.

Three out of four Christian husbands are not growing as swordsmen, and their wives, children, and churches are suffering as a result.

Are you a man with a Bible, or a man of the Word?  Owning a Bible is not going to get it done.  If you are not reading, studying, memorizing, and sharing God’s Word regularly, then you are missing out on all the spiritual breakthroughs that only come with cutting edge Christianity. Get started growing in your spiritual walk and join a band of brothers committed to doing the same.

The Swordsman: Wielding the Word — Part 1: Husbands is a new IMPACT Cohort study for men who desire to be great husbands who are skillfully equipped with the Word of God.  We call these men who know how to rightly handle Scripture in their marriage, family, and work lives “Swordsmen.”

The difference between a man with a sword and a swordsman comes down to training and expertise. The Word of God is known as “the sword of the Spirit” and “a double-edged sword,” yet most men have not learned to wield God’s Word like an expert swordsman. In this IMPACT Players Cohort study, men will be trained with the 7 verses that every husband must learn to wield effectively in their marriage.
