Becoming a Mighty Man of Valor
King David was one of the greatest leaders of the ancient world. In building his leadership team, he pursued and recruited a collection of "Mighty Men" who came alongside of him in life and battle; 1 Chronicles 11 and 12 details the characteristics of these mighty men of valor.

Characteristics of a Mighty Man of Valor from 1 Chronicles 11
- Strong and Loyal Supporters (v. 10)
- Obedient to God's Word (v. 10)
- Courageous in Battle (v. 11)
- Willing to Take a Stand (v. 14)
- Brave Servants of the King (v. 18)
- Fight in the Lord's Strength (v. 20)
1 Chronicles 11 highlights a few of these mighty men a little more closely. Take a look at these profiles and consider what mighty deeds and noble characteristics you would like to be remembered for.
Mighty Men of Valor Profiles:
- Eleazar - When other men fled, Eleazar took a stand and defended his ground. The Lord gave him the victory for his faithful courage (v. 12-14).
- Three Mighty Men - Three men of valor stormed the gates of Bethlehem for a drink of water to give to the King.
- Beniah - A valiant man and a doer of great deeds, Beniah was never intimidated by his circumstances or the size of his enemies.
